Based on standard design developed during technology development phase (1997~2015), both KAERI and K.A.CARE are performing the Pre-Project Engineering (PPE)project jointly for three years to establish knowledge infrastructure in various fields of SMART technology during joint development phase.

During commercialization phase following three years of PPE, two FOAK (First-of-A-Kind) SMART plants are to be constructed in Saudi Arabia for around five years by obtaining construction permit and to be operated under operation license. The construction of two FOAK SMART plants are to be conducted by SMART Power Company.
