On May 26, 2016, GF Nuclear Ltd. was advised that SMART is eligible to participate in Phase One of the DECC (Department of Energy & Climate Change) SMR Competition.
GF Nuclear Ltd. is the nuclear arm of a British independent power-generation company developing the SMART with Korean and Saudi Arabian partners. In March 2016, the UK Government launched the first phase of the competition. The objective of Phase One is to gauge market interest among technology developers, utilities, potential investors and funders in developing, commercializing and financing SMRs in the UK. |
