Saudi Arabia signed PPE Agreement with South Korea for SMART

K.A.CARE and the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) signed a Pre-Project Engineering agreement for the establishment of partnership in the technology of the reactor of small compact units (SMART) and human building at K.A.CARE headquarter in Riyadh on September 2, 2015. Under the deal, the two countries will conduct a three-year preliminary study to review the feasibility of constructing 2 units of SMART reactors in Saudi Arabia. The cost of building the first SMART unit is estimated at $1 billion.
