사우디 국가원자력프로젝트

[첨부2]Official Saudi Press Agency.pdf ​사우디 내각, National Atomic Energy Project 승인 (2017.07.24)   ■ 2017년 7월 24일 국왕이 주재하는 사우디 내각에서 국가원자력프로젝트 (National Atomic Energy Project)를 승인했다고 사우디 공식 소식통 (Saudi Press Agency)에서 보도함 (제4호 의안)   ■ 동 프로젝트에는 다수의 계획들이 포함되어 있으며, 아울러 같은 날 KACARE의 재무 및 행정규정에 대해서도 승인했다고 보도함 (제5호 의안)   ■ 보도에 따르면 동 프로젝트 제안은 왕세자 (현 국방장관이며 Council of Economic Affairs & Development 회장)인 Mohammed bin Salman (MBS)이 상정하였다고 함   ※ SPA 보도 (2017.07.24): Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Session 4 Jeddah     KACARE 원장, National Atomic Energy Project의 내각 승인을 평가 (2017.07.25)   ■ 2017년 7월 25일 KACARE 야마니 원장은 왕세자 MBS가 상정하여 사우디 내각 승인을 받은 “National Atomic Energy Project”에 대해 높이 평가함 ■ 야마니 원장은 동 승인으로 인하여 최적의 에너지믹스 달성을 위해 발전원 개발, 담수 등 을 포함한 원자력의 평화적 이용이라는 국가적 목표에 도달 할 수 있다고 언급하면서, 그러한 목표는 사우디가 체결한 다자간 또는 양자간 조약 및 협약 그리고 원자력 신규 도입국을 위해 IAEA가 제공한 가이드라인을 준수하면서 이루어져야 한다고 강조함 -야마니 원장에 따르면, 동 프로젝트에는 향후 기저부하를 담당할 대형원전 (1기당 1200~1600MWe 규모) 등을 포함하고 있으며, 현재 KACARE는 2기의 대형원전과 SMR 건설을 위한 기술조사를 진행 중에 있다고 언급함. ■ 동 프로젝트를 통해 사우디는 향후 원자력 기술을 획득 및 개발하고, 송전망으로부터 이격된 지역에 원전을 건설할 수 있을 것이라고 함 ■ 동 프로젝트는 원자력 규제기관이 될 Nuclear and Radiation Safety Authority (NRSA)의 설립을 통해 국제적인 원자력 안전기준에 의거하여 추진될 것이라고 함   ※ SPA 보도 (2017.07.25): Dr. Hashem Yamani appreciates decision of Council of Ministers to approve establishment of National Atomic Energy Project       The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) is the official news agency of Saudi Arabia. The agency was established in 1970 as the first national news agency in Saudi Arabia. The main goal of its establishment was to serve as a central body to collect and distribute local and international news in Saudi Arabia and abroad. The SPA is under the responsibility of the ministry of culture and information and therefore, its president directly reports to the minister.
